Tucson boasts some of the best golfing in the United States. The 27 hole Arnold Palmer Signature course at Starr Pass has been the location of numerous PGA events. In addition there are over a dozen other courses worth playing. What makes Tucson golf so amazing is their diversity. Many offer rugged mountainous play while flatter courses challenge you with their length.

Your adventure starts right outside the door of your casita. You have access to dozens of trails ranging from the challenging Yetman Trail to the flatter trails south of Kinney Road. In addition, there is fantastic road biking over Gates Pass and into Suguaro National Park West. The concierge at the J.W. Mariott Resort can provide you with maps, bicycle rentals, and guided tours. We bought this Casita largely because of the endless network of mountain biking trails in the Starr Pass Area. We also recommend The 100-Year Trail at Catalina State Park, and "Fantasy Island" in West Tucson.

Perhaps the best day trip within the Tucson area is to make the drive to the top of Mount Lemmon. The 25 mile road takes you to the summit at over 9000 feet. The views, particularly of Tucson, are as spectacular as any in the United States. You will pass through 4 vegetative zones during the ascent. Be sure to bring a jacket as it can be chilly at the top!
